Plenty of Blame to Go Around:
Jeb Stuart’s Controversial Ride to Gettysburg
(Friday Only)

Historian: Eric Wittenberg

Description: Join award-winning author Eric J. Wittenberg for a full-day tour of sites associated with the second half of Jeb Stuart’s infamous ride to Gettysburg. We will visit the site of Corbit’s Charge in Westminster, Maryland, Union Mills, and the Battle of Hanover, Pennsylvania. After a lunch break, we will follow Stuart to York, Pennsylvania and then on to Carlisle, Pennsylvania. From there, we will make our way back to Gettysburg with a stop at the Hunterstown battlefield along the way. Hopefully, at the end of the day, you will have a much greater appreciation for the ordeal faced by Stuart’s horse soldiers and will better understand Robert E. Lee’s orders to Stuart.
