2014 Scholarship Program
Annual Conference Scholarship Program
The mission of the Civil War Trust is the preservation of America’s significant Civil War battlefields by protecting the land and educating the public about the vital roles those battlefields played in directing the course of our nation’s history.
The Civil War Trust (Trust) is pleased to announce the addition of three new scholarships to three existing scholarships we’ve been able to offer the past several years. In addition, we are adding one more full scholarship, to be awarded to a teacher. We are grateful to our members who support this program, allowing the opportunity for college students and teachers to attend a conference that they would not typically be able to afford on their own. Thanks to these generous supporters, we are able to offer scholarships that will enrich students and teachers who are studying history and have an interest in Civil War battlefield and historic preservation. It also gives recipients the opportunity to meet others with similar interests and learn more about the American Civil War, as well as network with people that are important to the cause.
To apply for the TEACHER scholarship, you must be a full time K-12 teacher that focuses on history, and specifically the American Civil War. The opportunity is presented to enrich a teacher with a deeper understanding of the Civil War, and be able to take the passion back to the classroom to benefit their students. To apply for a STUDENT scholarship you must be an undergraduate or graduate college student and have an interest in historic preservation and the American Civil War. Apply Here »
